A Seattle-area cook is celebrating his good fortune after winning $50,000 playing "Top Secret Crossword" Scratch. He purchased the winning ticket while grocery shopping at a local Safeway (2201 E Madison St).

The man shared his good news with the store clerks first, then called his mom right away. He told lottery officials that he enjoys playing Scratch on occasion and that this is the largest prize he's ever won.

As for how he plans to spend his money, the man said, "I need a new hearing aid, so that's first. Then, the rest will be put into savings for a rainy day."
