Another Washington's Lottery Winner Made in the Vancouver Area

On Tuesday, June 3, a Vancouver couple won $30,000 playing Washington's Lottery Scratch game, Lucky 7 Slingo. The winning ticket was purchased at Lil Q Food Store in Vancouver, WA. This marks the eighth prize of $30,0000 or more claimed at the Vancouver Regional Office since March 2014.

Both longtime Lottery players, this is the couple's first big win. "I started scratching it and I thought I had won $1,000" explained the husband. The couple returned to the store to check their ticket and the retailer informed them that they had in fact won $30,000.

In total surprise, they promptly took their ticket to the Washington's Lottery Regional Office in Vancouver to claim their prize. "We couldn't believe it" they shared. "We never thought we were going to win, but if you don't buy a ticket, you really don't have a chance to win!”

The excited couple told Lottery officials about their plans to give each of their three children and grandson a portion of the winnings, using the rest to donate to local charity groups and invest. "We're both very active in the community and will definitely use this money to give back.”

When asked how they felt about the win, the frequent players shared that they were still in shock. "It really just hasn't sunk in yet. We'll probably celebrate over dinner this weekend, which is also my birthday" the wife said. "Her birthday is June 7 and the ticket was Lucky 7 Slingo! It must be lucky" the husband added.
