Two Lottery Winners Credit Special Routines for Big Wins

Spanaway and Seattle Players Both Won $200,000 Playing Scratch Games!

OLYMPIA:
A lot of people rely on special good luck routines before big life moments – it could be chewing two pieces of peppermint gum before your favorite team plays a game, or wearing a lucky pair of socks during an important business meeting. For two local Lottery players, their special good luck routines helped them win big on Friday!

Heidi Andrews of Spanaway won $200,000 playing the Scratch ticket, "Casino Nights." The 59-year-old mental health worker said she was drawn to the $10 ticket. "Something told me I had to have that ticket," she explained. "I don’t know what it was, but I felt drawn to it. I used my lucky system of only buying one ticket and buying it at night. I always win when I do that."

David Martin of Seattle was just as lucky. The 51-year-old Ballard resident won $200,000 on the "Money Money Money" Scratch ticket. "I go on the [Lottery] website to see where we are in the numbers," he explained. "How many prizes have been given out, et cetera and pick my ticket based on that." He plans to buy a new car with his winnings and put the rest in the bank.

Heidi purchased her winning ticket at the Community Food Mart in Spanaway on Pacific Avenue South. David bought his lucky ticket at the Albertsons on Aurora Avenue North in Seattle.
