PORT ORCHARD RESIDENT WINS $50,000 SCRATCH PRIZE

Port Orchard resident Erik Paulsen is celebrating a $50,000 lottery win after playing "Lady Luck" Scratch. He purchased the winning ticket at a local Albertsons (370 SW Sedgwick Rd).

Paulsen works in customer service and is a regular Scratch player. After realizing he won, the first person he told was his wife. "She didn't believe me at first. She was in the bathroom doing her hair and when I walked in to show her the ticket, she dropped her hair dryer."

Paulsen plans to use a portion of his winnings to visit family in Alaska later this year when the weather warms up. He said that he and his wife go to the state fair every year they are able to make it, and this win makes it possible to keep the tradition going.

Proceeds from Washington's Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington's Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
