SPOKANE MAN PLANS TO USE $270,000 LOTTERY WIN TO SUPPORT Ukrainian orphanages

A man from Spokane is celebrating his recent $270,000 Hit 5 win with his family and closest friends around the dinner table.

The winner purchased his winning ticket from Fred Meyer (400 South Thor St. Spokane, WA 99202) for the Oct. 10 drawing using his own, personal numbers.

“This win is exciting because we’ve had dreams and plans that we now get to revisit, and can maybe accomplish sooner,” said the winner. “For now, we’ll use the money for practical things, but this frees up funds for exciting things down the road.”

The winner said he and his family don’t have any celebratory trips or extravagant plans for his prize. Instead, in addition to home improvement purchases and mortgage payments, they plan to continue supporting the charities and orphanages they currently donate to in Ukraine.

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
