A longtime Edmonds resident is planning a weekend getaway to Arizona after winning the top prize from a “Season’s Greeting” Scratch ticket. The winner purchased the ticket from Safeway the day before Thanksgiving (Aurora Marketplace, 23632 WA-99, Edmonds, WA 98026).

“This win is such a blessing,” said the winner. “I’m humbled by it all and it’s good to know that people really do win!”

The winner told Washington’s Lottery officials the prize money is going to be put to good use. First, the Washingtonian plans to schedule a trip to sunny Arizona to spend time with a few close friends and relax at a nice spa. Then, the winner plans to purchase new household appliances.
