A Bellingham resident is “Lucky for Life!” The man won the popular Scratch game on Wednesday, Sept. 21, and chose to take the one-time lump sum of $750,000. The longtime Washington’s Lottery player purchased his ticket from Haggen’s in Ferndale (1815 Main Street Ferndale, WA 98248).
When asked how he plans to spend his winnings, the winner said he’s going to “share some of the money with my family and put the rest toward a much needed vacation to Las Vegas this spring.”
The winner told Lottery officials he’s a private person and doesn’t plan to do anything extravagant with his win. “I’m not a show off,” he said. “I don’t want to do that. Things will stay the same.”
Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
