A man from Maple Valley received the surprise of a lifetime when he found out he had won $100,000 from the Powerball drawing on June 29. The winner purchased his ticket from QFC (22131 SE 237th St, Maple Valley, WA 98038).

“When I scanned my ticket and saw the prize amount, I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said the winner. “Neither could the employee who was helping me. He had to scan the ticket again and then another employee came over to see what was going on.”

The winner told Lottery officials he drove straight to the Washington’s Lottery Federal Way Regional Office to claim his prize, but has been in too much shock to think about what he plans to do with the money. For now, he’ll put everything in the bank and save it for a rainy day.
