CORN DOG CRAVING LEADS TO A $500,000 LOTTERY WIN

Craving a corn dog, a Tacoma man headed to a nearby convenience store and walked out with lunch plus a winning $500,000 Scratch ticket. The winner purchased a “$25,000,000 Extravaganza” Scratch ticket from Ernie’s Fuel Shop in Federal Way (33101 Pacific HWY South).

“When I first realized I won, I thought, ‘Wow, this is the best lunch break ever,’” shared the winner. “I had to call my girlfriend to share the news, even though she didn’t believe me at first, so I had to take a picture and sent it to her”.

The winner told a lottery official that from time to time he will play for fun, but this is the biggest prize that he’s ever won.

The winner plans to spend his winnings on a family vacation and give some to his children. The remaining money will go to paying off his car and adding to his retirement account.

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
