SNOHOMISH TEACHER IS “COMPLETELY STUNNED” BY $50,000 SCRATCH WIN

Becky Berger is celebrating a $50,000 lottery win after playing “$25,000,000 Extravaganza” Scratch from a Snohomish 7-Eleven (1215 2nd St).

Berger told lottery officials that she scratched her ticket inside the 7-Eleven and then had to go sit in her car because she was completely stunned. After composing herself, she took her ticket back into the store to have the cashier double check it. Once it was confirmed, she was so excited she kissed the cashier on the cheek and gave him $100 as a thank you for selling her a winning ticket.

“If you don’t share it, it doesn’t come back to you,” said the winner.

Berger, who is a special education teacher, is in the processes of earning her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership (EdD). Berger’s wife, who is also a teacher, was the first person she shared the exciting news with.

The winner plans to use her winnings to pay for tuition, as well as giving a portion to her two sons and some of her co-workers.
