EVERETT MAN SCORES HALF OF $170,000 HIT 5 CASHPOT, PLANS TO BUY NEW HOT TUB

A man from Everett is ready to enjoy a nice, celebratory dinner after winning big from the Hit 5 drawing on Saturday, May 20. The winner purchased his ticket from South Broadway Food Mart (3532 Broadway, Everett, WA 98201) and took home $85,000—half of the $170,000 Cashpot.

A woman from Kenmore won the other half of the Cashpot.

“I didn’t want to tell anyone I won until I had the chance to visit Washington’s Lottery Everett Regional Office so I knew I wasn’t dreaming,” said the winner. “I took the day off work in celebration of my win!”

When asked how he plans to spend his prize money, the winner shared he plans to cross one big item off his bucket list: purchasing a hot tub. “With the weather we have here in Washington, you need a hot tub,” said the man. “That way, you can enjoy being outside even when it’s dreary.”

Proceeds from Washington’s Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing grants to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington’s Lottery, its beneficiaries and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit www.walottery.com.
