Powerball Jackpot Grows to $257 Million

Washington's Lottery Imagines What Washingtonians Could Do If They Won

OLYMPIA, WA: On Saturday, June 7, the Powerball jackpot grew to $257 million. That's enough money to buy a super yacht (up to $160 million) complete with six decks, a helicopter launch pad, a swimming pool, a hot tub and private rooms for friends to stay in. And, there would still be $97 million left over to travel around the entire world and buy 32 vacation homes in 32 different countries (up to $3 million each)!

The next drawing will take place on Wednesday, June 11 at 8:00 p.m. PST. Washington's Lottery has imagined some other summer travel itineraries Washingtonians can dream about if they won the $257 million jackpot.

  • Charter enough private jets to fly everyone in Walla Walla, Pasco, Covington, Vancouver and Washougal (approx. 295,633 total) on a round-trip vacation to the Hawaiian Islands (up to $11 million), with enough left over to book each person a week's stay at their beach property of choice (up to $876 each).
  • Or, buy a stretch limo (up to $80,000 each) for everyone in George, Easton and Ilwaco (approx. 1,900 total) to attend a private concert by their favorite artist (up to $55,000 each).
  • Or, buy a sports car (up to $80,000 each) for everyone in Satus, Summitview and Lummi Island (approx. 2,700 total), with enough left over for every person to sit in a box seat at their favorite Washington's sports team's biggest game (up to $15,000 each).

Powerball tickets for Wednesday's $257 million drawing are available for purchase at Washington's Lottery retail locations until 6:45 p.m. PST that same evening. You can find Washington's Lottery retail locations at walottery.com/WhereToPlay.

Powerball is a multi-state jackpot game. If someone in Washington State wins the Powerball jackpot, others in Washington benefit, too. For example, if this Wednesday's Powerball jackpot winner is from Washington, the retail location that sold the ticket will receive a $50,000 selling bonus.

Additionally, proceeds from Washington's Lottery benefit the Washington Opportunity Pathways Account, providing scholarships to college students statewide. To learn more about Washington's Lottery, its beneficiaries, and to review all up-to-date winning numbers, please visit walottery.com.
